A therapy dog is trained to provide comfort and affection to people in hospice, disaster areas, retirement homes, hospitals, nursing homes. Schools and more.  Emotional support dogs provide therapeutic support threw companionship.  CAVPOO make GOOD theory dogs. 

To earn the AKC Therapy Dog™ title, you and your dog must have completed at least 50 therapy visits. These visits must be documented with time, date, location, and a signature of a staff person at the facility (e.g., school, hospital, etc.).

What do therapy dogs do

Therapy animals also provide a service, but their job is not to perform tasks. Their job is to provide mental and emotional support for their owners. Once again, most therapy animals are dogs, but many different types of animal have been certified, even guinea pigs and llamas!

What are the benefits of therapy dogs

Animal-assisted therapy can significantly reduce pain, anxiety, depression and fatigue in people with a range of health problems: Children having dental procedures. People receiving cancer treatment. People in long-term care facilities.
